Urban development and agricultural expansion have significantly reduced their natural habitats, while rising temperatures and extreme weather events exacerbate their vulnerability.
About the work
— Koala…
…features a life-sized scan of a genuine koala skeleton, which has then been 3D printed using bush-fire carbon through a bespoke printing process. The koala skeleton is attached to a dead tree branch atop a plinth and rotates slowly at 1rpm.
The team is currently writing up this into an academic paper and more details will appear here soon.
